Our New Selection of Underground Comix!

Underground Comix Just Landed

A big collection came into the shop this week!

A large amount of Underground comix, the photocopied, self-published, middle-finger-to-the-mainstream books that changed comics forever have landed at our door!

Here are some killer titles you might find!

Zap Comix - R. Crumb's original spark, first put out in 1968 and sold by hand out of a baby carriage on the streets of San Francisco. The book that started the whole movement and pulled in other legends like S. Clay Wilson, Victor Moscoso, and Robert Williams along the way.

Fritz the Cat - before Hollywood got a hold of him. Crumb's most famous character, sharp satire wrapped up in a cartoon cat. Still funny. Still stings a little too, the way good satire does.

The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers - Gilbert Shelton's stoner outlaws, three burnouts against the world, still beloved decades later and still funnier than most of what gets published now.

Mr. Natural - Another Crumb creation, a fake guru who's equal parts wise man and con man. Bijou Funnies is here as well, one of the earliest anthology titles to give the whole scene a place to live. Zippy the Pinhead rounds things out with Bill Griffith's surreal, half-mad worldview.

It's a large batch, more than what's listed here. Come dig through it yourself. Books like this don't sit on shelves long.
