Andor Season 2 - Disney's only canon STAR WARS project of 2025

In 2025, "Andor" Season 2 will be the sole canonical Star Wars release from Disney and Lucasfilm. This marks a significant reduction from 2024, which featured six Star Wars television series. 

Despite this decrease, fans can anticipate a compelling continuation of Cassian Andor's journey. The first season of "Andor" was highly acclaimed for its exploration of themes like revolution, freedom, and heroism. The upcoming season is expected to delve deeper into these narratives, charting Andor's evolution from a soldier to a leader within the Rebel Alliance. 

Additionally, 2025 will see the release of "Star Wars: Visions" Volume 3, an animated series presenting nine new shorts from Japanese anime studios. However, it's important to note that "Visions" is not part of the official Star Wars canon. 

Looking ahead to 2026, there is anticipation for new Star Wars film announcements and potential continuations of series like "Ahsoka," which has a confirmed second season in development. There are also ongoing rumors about another season of "Obi-Wan Kenobi." This strategic pacing aims to maintain fan engagement without oversaturating the franchise. 

"Andor" Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on April 22, 2025, on Disney Plus. The 12-episode season will be divided into blocks of three episodes, each covering events over a four-year period leading up to the events of "Rogue One."
