A Pit Stop at Legends Comics – Florence, SC
March 28, 2025

On my way to paint the mural at Little Giant Comics, I made a quick stop at Legends Comics—located at 702 S Irby St, Florence, SC 29501.
As I pulled into the parking lot, I immediately got the vibe. The right side of the building had a massive mural—maybe 20 feet wide—featuring Batman and Robin, with the shop’s logo beside it and a smaller MARVEL logo painted nearby. I knew I was in a groovy place before I even got out of the car—hell, before I even came to a complete stop.

The front of the shop had four large windows, each wrapped with vinyl art featuring Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, and Superman. Even before stepping inside, it already felt like this place had been around forever—like a neighborhood anchor.

Once I walked in, I was hit with another surprise: statues. Huge, gorgeous statues lined the front counters. Two jaw-dropping Venom pieces had me absolutely drooling.

Inside, I met two friendly guys running the shop. Richard was sorting books, and we struck up some conversation. I snagged a few raw Something Is Killing the Children books at a solid price, plus a 9.8 Shannon Maer Harley Quinn slab for just $65. Always happy to support a local comic shop—this was definitely a worthwhile pit stop on my road trip to New England.

Tommy rang me up and told me about a comic show happening in a neighboring town that weekend. I’m so glad I decided to stop in. Here’s hoping Legends Comics enjoys a long, thriving run in their current spot—they’ve built something really special.
Reading this blog reminds me of when we first became friends my bro. You were an awesome talented artist, who was grinding so hard to get his art to his fans/friends. Almost a decade later and look at you now my bro!
